METHUEN - John Joseph Regan, 85, a Methuen resident, died Wednesday, July 7, after a long illness at the Oxford Nursing Home in Haverhill.He was born in Lawrence, on March 25, 1919, a son of the late Daniel L. and Elizabeth (Charlton) Regan. He graduated in 1937 from Lawrence High School. Mr. Regan worked in the Arlington Mills in Lawrence. For many years he also worked at the Department of Public Works in Lawrence, retiring in 1989.He was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church.Survivors include a sister, Ann and her husband James McCann of Lexington, Vt., and Florida; a brother, Daniel L. and his wife Doris (McCann) Regan of Nashua; his nieces and nephews, Mary and her husband Rick Nardella of North Andover, James and his wife Mary (Leahy) McCann of Sudbury, Kevin and his wife Cheryl (Tatro) McCann of Westford, Dr. Daniel and his wife Louann (Tombarelli) Regan of Barrington, R.I., David and his wife Patricia (Young) Regan of Pelham, and John and his wife Susan (Lannan) Regan of Hampstead, N.H.; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was also the brother of the late Mary E. Regan.
