UntitledJOHN H. GARNER1933-2009John H. Garner, 75, entered the arms of our Lord on March 19, 2009. Born in La Grange, GA, in 1933, he graduated from Pensacola High School in 1951.In the early 1950's John served as an Army Air Defense Artilleryman at Thule AFB, Greenland. After his military service he joined the U.S. Postal Service retiring after 31 years. He is a past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE, Warrington Lodge #2108, dedicating his retirement years to furthering the Elks' benevolent programs.John is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Phyllis Garner; two sons, James and Tom; daughters-in-law, DeDe and Renee; grandsons, Alex and Nicolas; in-laws, Arthur, Pat, and Marion McKinney.Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
