GOODWATER – Graveside services for Mr. Jerry Louis Queen, age 69, of Goodwater, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Smyrna Cemetery, with Bro. Sam Cunard officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening, May 6, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Bass Funeral Home.Mr. Queen was born on January 7, 1944, in Tallapoosa County. He died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his home, following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Queen; son, Michael Keith McDaniel; parents, John Louis and Ethel McCain Queen; sisters, Pearl Robinson, Irene Hampton, Ruth White, Stella Kachigan and brothers, John William, James Floyd and Edward Queen.Survivors include his son, Neal (Alicia) Shaw of Hollins, AL; daughters, Geri (Phillip) Brown of Equality, AL, Jennifer Lucas of Hanover, AL, Angie Varner of Marble Valley, AL, Tina Harris of Goodwater, AL, Teresa (Michael) Courington of Vincent, AL., Robin (Johnnie) Schmidt of Rockford, AL; brothers, Troy (Elaine) Queen of Brea, CA, Wayne (Mary Nell) Queen of Kellyton, AL; sister, Agnes Jones of Alexander City, AL; grandchildren, Kyle and Trey Brown, Olivia Lucas, Anna and Chris Courington, Cody and Jonah Schmidt, Dustin and Travis Shaw; great-grandson, Grady Shaw and special friends, Scotty and Beverly Bolan.Bass Funeral Home directing.
