PARSONS, Jeanne Colbourne Thomson Peacefully in Ottawa on May 11, 2009 in her 93rd year. Wife of the late Selby H. C. Parsons. Born on July 3, 1916 in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland to the late Dr. H. B. and Pearl Thomson; sister to the late Hope Thomson Clark, Bill Thomson and Shirley Thomson Armstrong. Remembered with love by sister Bette Thomson Summers (Peter); children Betty Lou LeDrew (Dave) and Peggy Ann Gray (the late Doug). Grandmother to Steven, Frank, Scott LeDrew, Lisa LeDrew Rennie (Paul), Susan LeDrew DesRoches (Gilles), Mark Gray (Tina) and Tracy Ann Gray. Great-grandmother to Courtney, Jason and Nicole Rennie; Brandon, Jessie and Jade DesRoches; Hannah, Isabelle and Ayden Gray, also Ava Djan-Chekar and her mother Nathalie. A special friend to Nagla LaPrise, Jean Stevens and Brenda LeDrew Keyes. Special thanks to the staff at Peter D. Clark Long Term Care Centre and caregivers Yvonne Bynoe and Pat Laycano. Jeanne was active with Girl Guides in Corner Brook, Nfld, YWCA in Toronto and worked as a library assistant in Toronto. After retirement she moved to Ottawa. Jeanne travelled the world and is remembered for her spunk and adventurous spirit. Her ashes will be going home to Newfoundland. Visitation will be held at Cole Funeral Services (2586 Carp Road) on Friday May 15 from 1 p.m. until the time of service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peter D.
