Jean Lillian Blaisdell Eager November 29, 2011 Jean Lillian Blaisdell Eager, age 87, passed into the next life on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. She died at her home in Savannah, GA, after a long illness. Mrs. Eager was born December 29, 1923, in Syracuse, NY. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Leta Blaisdell. Mrs. Eager graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy, Class of 1941. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Wilbur "Bill" Eager. They recently celebrated 67 1/2 years of marriage. From that union eight children were born. A homemaker by vocation, Mrs. Eager was an accomplished gardener and an avid reader with a special gift for hospitality. Her commitment and love for her family surpassed all. Mrs. Eager is survived by six children, James Eager of Charleston, SC, Coleen "Kelly" Chism of Pensacola, FL, Betsy Marolt of Elizabeth, PA, Shawn Eager of Jacksonville, FL, Alissa "AJ" Linton of Savannah, GA, and Dorea Eager of Savannah, GA. She also had 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces, including Eileen Deckman of Syracuse, NY. Mrs. Eager was predeceased by her spouse, Wilbur "Bill" Lawrence Eager Jr; infant daughter, Melissa Eager; son, Lauren John Eager; and sister, Lynn Wood. A funeral Mass was held for Bill and Jean Eager on Monday, December 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Savannah, GA.
