Jean was born October 10, 1919 in Huntington, West Virginia as the only child of the late Burmah Cale and Delores Bellinger Dusenberry. Her father died when she was one year old. As a child, she and her mother moved to Nashville where she attended Peabody Demonstration School, and graduated from Vanderbilt in 1941. From childhood to her life's end, she was an Episcopalian and a member of Christ Church Cathedral.Jean was married for seventy years to Dan S. Sanders, Jr., M.D. who predeceased her in 2013. She is survived by daughters, Carol Sanders of Torrance, CA and Pat Johnson; and son, Dan S. Sanders III, M. D. (Beverly); six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece.Her life was centered on her faith, family, and home. She enjoyed friends, the Vanderbilt Sewing Club, bridge, antiques, and good books.A family service in her memory was held at Christ Church Cathedral. The family most gratefully acknowledges the beautiful and compassionate care of her physicians, and the staff of Abe's Garden at Park Manor.
