James WilliamSargent, 80STANDISH & Lake Alfred, Fla. - Mr. James William Sargent, age 80, a resident of Standish and Snowbird in Lake Alfred, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure. Mr. Sargent was born on July 25, 1934, in Bangor, to William & Patricia (Boutote) Sargent. James and his wife were snowbirds for the past eight years. He was a retired Flight Line Supervisor, enjoyed tinkering around the house and yard. James was a United States Air Force Veteran who retired after 26-1/2 yrs. as a Chief Master Sargent. James also retired from the Cumberland County Jail as a maintenance supervisor after 23 yrs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother – Jon Sargent. James is survived by his loving family: his wife of 61 years, Marlene Sargent of Lake Alfred, Fla. and Standish; two daughters Diane (Tom) Perry of Standish, and Deborah Smith of Standish; four grandchildren Jennifer, Miranda, James and Virginia; and one great-granddaughter Rhiannon.A service for James will be held in Maine in springtime.
