James W. Newton of Dracut, formerly of Lowell; 60 Dracut James W. Newton, a Dracut resident, but formerly of the Acre section of Lowell died Saturday December 27, 2008, at the Saints Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was 60. Born in Lowell on March 21, 1948 he was a son of the late Harold W. and Lillian (Gaudette) Newton. James was previously employed at Courier Citizen and was a supervisor at ZBR Publications in Bradford until illness forced his retirement. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick Church, where he was also a member of the Holy Name Society. James was also member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks # 2310. Survivors include three brothers and a sister in law, Eugene Newton, Robert and Carol Newton and David Newton all of Dracut; a sister in law, Jeannine Marcotte of Tyngsboro; eight nieces and nephews, Robert K. Newton and Kimberly E. Kaltsas, both of Dracut, Eugene Newton of Lowell, Christopher Newton, Jason Newton and Jennifer Luminello, all of Tyngsboro, Eric Newton of Plastow, NH, Jamie Newton of Winchendon; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was also the brother of the late Richard Newton. NEWTON It being his request calling hours were omitted. A private Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at St. Patrick Church.
