KEARNS, JAMES PATRICK "J.P.," 87, of Louisville, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East. He was a retired lieutenant colonel serving in World War II, retired from Dages Paint Co. and was a real estate developer. J.P. was a 1942 graduate of St. Xavier High School and U of L School of Business. He was a member of Big Spring Country Club, Knights of Columbus and St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Fister. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, the former Marie Dages; daughters, Terese Kearns Fister, Barbara Kearns Jackson, Joanie Kearns Allgeier (Ben), Susan Kearns Lepping (John); grandchildren, Emily (Chris Greco), Meg, J. P., Sarah, Laura, Lesley and Amy; and his great-granddaughter, Sofia. His funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Raphael, 2141 Lancashire Ave., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. In lieu of flowers, please make expressions of sympathy to The Sacred Heart Academy Annual Fund.
