PATTERSON _ James passed away on the 28th of December, 2002 at the age of 96 years. He was born in Scotland and came to Sapperton with his family when he was 6 years old. Predeceased by his wife, Hazel; brothers, Alec, Richard and sisters Ellen Mitchell and Agnes Holte. Jim is survived by his brother Rob (Flo) of Victoria; his companion Miriam Allan of New Westminster; son Rob (Elaine) of Whistler; grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) of Whistler, Lisa (Rakeesh) of Toronto, Craig (Moona) of India, Casey of the West Kootenays and three great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Ryan and Zak. Jim worked in the fishing industry in the 1920's and 1930's and during WWII was a skipper on patrol boats. After the war he went back to fishing and skippered the yacht Fifer for many years. Jim will be fondly remembered by his many friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church on Columbia Street in Sapperton at 2:00 pm on the 7th of January, 2003.
