James M. "Buddy" Patterson, 76, of Leighton, died on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at his residence. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel in Tuscumbia, with Brother Bill Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery.Mr. Patterson was a native of Colbert County and a member of Abbie Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Maggie Patterson; and one son, David Dwight Patterson.Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Patsy N. Watkins Patterson of Leighton; one son, James T. Patterson of Leighton; two brothers, Johnny Patterson of Leighton and Donald Patterson of Tuscumbia; and three sisters, Wilhelmia Kimbrough and Mildred Terry, both of Leighton, and Hilda McGee of Killen.Pallbearers will be Shane Davis, John S. Patterson, Steve Burden, Rayburn Johnson and Leonard Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Lane, Billy McGee, Dr. A. Kalliath, Dr. R. Matthews and the staff and workers of Parkes Mechanical.Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia is directing.
