BAIRD, James Kelso February 17, 1931 - March 19, 2015 We are sad to announce the passing of our dad, Jim Baird. Born in Vancouver, long time Ladner resident. Predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Joan. They were members of the Kinsmen & K-40. His life was the cattle business, as his father before him. Known for his swearing, he did business on his word and a hand shake. He had honesty, integrity, and an outstanding knowledge of cattle. He took up golf later in life, and found that he loved it. He and Mom enjoyed winters in Yuma, Arizona with many of their Ladner farming friends. He lived with Parkinson disease for 40 years, but was one of the lucky ones, that did not show severe effects. We are so thankful to Elizabeth, who was not just a caregiver, but a trusted companion & friend. Such a blessing to our family, she made the 5 1/2 years without mom, not just bearable for him, but enjoyable. So hard to say good-bye, but so grateful for the life we had with him, and because of him. We are so proud of all he has accomplished in his life, and the legacy he leaves behind. A dedicated husband and family man. Sadly missed by his 4 kids, daughter-in-laws, son-in-law, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. A celebration of life, in memory of both Jim & Joan Baird, to be held at their Ladner barn, Sunday, April 19, drop-in between 1 - 4 PM. We'd love to receive any stories or memories anyone might have of our mom or dad. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Delta Hospital, Parkinson Society, or the Lung Association, is appreciated.
