James I. O'Neill, 82, Ellenton, died Aug. 7, 2004. He was born March 29, 1922, in Highland Falls, N.Y., and came to Manatee County in 1991 from Cornwall, N.Y. He retired in 1978 as an industrial arts teacher for the Beacon, N.Y., City School District. He was a member of the Wood Workers Club and Art Club at Colony Cove. He served in the Army Air Forces. He was a member of St. Frances X Cabrini Church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; daughters Karen Bell of Dale City, Va., and Marlene Riedell of Lusby, Md.; a sister, Veronica of Bradenton; a brother, John F. of Bradenton; and two grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Frances X Cabrini Church in Parrish. Mansion Memorial Funeral Home, Ellenton, is in charge.
