James Everett Jordan (March 24, 1927) of Kirbyville, Texas, passed away Dec. 10, 2008, in Round Rock, Texas. He has gone to join his wife of 58 years, Betty Jordan, who passed August 2006. Jim received a B.A. from East Texas Baptist College in 1954, and he received two master's degrees in theology and counseling. He was ordained as a Southern Baptist Minister in Marshall, Texas, in 1959. Jim served the Lord and his country as an Air Force Chaplain for 28 years. Jim is survived by his daughter, Julie Cowan; son-in-law, Ken Cowan of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Cody and Katie Cowan and Farrah and Rachel Jordan; brother, Charles Jordan of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Dorothy Moreau of Selma, Texas; and sister, Helen Lee of Port Arthur, Texas. A memorial service will be held at McLaughlin Twin Cities Mortuary in Niceville, Fla., at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20.
