Lineville - Mr. James Edwin "Jabie" Patterson, 64, of Lineville, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at his residence. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. "Jabie" was a Munford native and former resident of Virginia. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and soon after his discharge began a 30-year career as a truck driver. On the road, he was known by his C.B. handle "Little Buffalo". Mr. Patterson moved to Lineville from Munford in 1999 and retired from driving in 2002. In his later years, he enjoyed fishing and reading, but above all else "Jabie" loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Sandra Haney Patterson; two daughters, Valley Woodard (Bruce), of Wellborn and Lynn Turner (Kyle), of Heflin; two sons, Scott Patterson, of Wellborn and Nathan Patterson, of Lineville; one sister, Sandra Gail McKinney, of Oregon; one brother-in-law, Barry Hamrick, of Lineville; seven grandchildren, Allen Woodard, Wesley Woodard (Amy), Brandon Woodard, Aaron Turner, Hunter Turner, Cameron Patterson and Kylie Turner; plus one great-grandchild, Ashton Woodard.
