Hull - James E. Jordan, 72, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 8, 2011.A native of Hart County, he was a son of the late James R. and Valeria D. Jordan, and was also preceded in death by a brother, J. R. Jordan. Mr. Jordan was in the first graduating class of Madison County High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957 until 1961 and retired from the United States Postal Service. He was of the Baptist faith and resided in Madison County all of his life.Survivors include sister, Margaret (Fred) Prickett, of Athens; son, Greg Jordan, of Marietta; daughters, Cindy Jordan, of Hartwell, and Sandra Nemetz, of Athens; grandchildren, Kerry, Jordan, and Christopher Nemetz, and Ellis Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Pennington Chapel Cemetery, Royston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice of Athens.Lord & Stephens, West, is in charge of arrangements.
