DWYER, James Patrick 1929-2003 James (Jim) Patrick Dwyer, of Burlington, ON passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter in Calgary after a five month struggle with cancer on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at the age of 74 years. Jim followed his father into a career in transportation, the first eighteen years with the Canadian Pacific Railway, and then almost twenty years with John Deere Limited. After retiring from John Deere he spent fifteen happy years with Laidlaw. This work enabled Jim and Sheela to spend their summers at their cottage "Highbanks" on the Otonabee River near Peterborough. Their children and grandchildren have many great memories of happy times on the river. Besides his loving wife of forty-six years Sheela, Jim is also survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathleen and Vim and Betty and Phil; a son and daughter-in-law Jim and Michelle. Jim was also the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren, Tommy, Eric, Stuart and Mercedes deHaas, Patrick, Ian, Kevin and Bennett Mitchell, all of Calgary, and Emma and Aidan Dwyer of Burlington, ON. Jim was predeceased by his sister Virginia of Burlington and his brother Tim of Seattle, WA.
