Avis de décès de James Appleton


JAMES APPLETON MELBOURNE James H. Appleton, 75, died on Monday, February 12, 2007, at his home in Melbourne, FL. He was a native of Nashville, TN and a graduate of Peabody Demonstration School, Nash ville and the University of Ten nessee, Knoxville, with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served with the Marine Corps in the Korean War, winning the Silver Star and other ribbons. Afterward he was active in a number of Marine Corps and Korean War activities, including the founding of the Korean War Memorial on the Capitol grounds in Nashville. Jim was a superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at George Peabody College in Nashville, and later at Con verse College in Spartanburg, SC. Since moving to Florida, Jim had served as a volunteer at the local zoo and at Daily Bread, a food pantry for poor and indigent people in the area. He was a Catholic. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Nunnally Appleton; daughters, Peggy Sisk of Franklin, TN and Pat Appleton of Clearwater, FL; and son, Chris Appleton of Melbourne; eight grandchil dren and two brothers. Jim was predeceased by his son, Jimmy. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Beach Funeral Home West Chapel Melbourne/Suntree.
