James Albert Ellison, 75, of 310 Lakewood Circle, died Aug. 25, 2002, at his residence. A native of Lyman, son of the late Theron and Lila Henderson Ellison, he was a retired truck driver, was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. Mr. Ellison was a charter member of the Mustang Club of America and the Foothills Mustang Club in Greenville. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ruth Smith Ellison, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Faye and Paul Cavanaugh of Columbia, and Jody Ann and Steven Vail of Salisbury, N.C.; two sisters, Helen White and Evelyn Cooper, both of Lyman; and three grandchildren, Jason Lucas of Gaston, and Matthew and Jeremy Vail, both of Salisbury, N.C. Mr. Ellison was predeceased by a sister, Louise Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Mark Smith. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Lucas, Matthew Vail, Jeremy Vail, Lynn Herman, Jimmy Edwards, Marshall Owens and Billy Biggs. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 tonight at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
