JACQUELINE A. KUKON MOUNTAINSIDE N.J. — Jacqueline Athala Kukon passed on peacefully in the comfort of her home and surrounded by loved ones she knew were at her side on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, after a brave battle with cancer. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside at 11 a.m., with the church opening its doors at 10 a.m. for visitation with family, followed by a burial at Graceland Memorial Cemetery in Kenilworth. Her wishes were few, but did ask that if inclined to send flowers, please, send donations instead in her memory to Overlook Hospital Fund/Oncology Unit, 36 Upper Overlook Road, Summit, N.J. 07901. Memo: Memory of Jacqueline A. Kukon. “Jackie“ or “Mom“ was best revered in the noblest of roles as an outstandingly strong and lovefilled mother who was always there to help, support and set examples for her children, Nancy Lutz, Brian Kukon, and Matthew Kukon (deceased). She also served as a kind and generous grandmother to Stephanie Lutz, and Kira Kukon, both of whom adored her. She so enjoyed spending time with her newest addition, greatgrandaughter Alexis Lutz. The youngest of four child- ren, she is remembered affectionately by her sister Constance Boesgaard, Marcel LaBelle, and Eugene LaBelle; as well as her many nieces, nephews, and their children, especially Mark LaBelle and Cheryl. Jackie was a successful business woman in key support roles for presidents and vice presidents of several major companies, including adidas and Schering Plough. While working, she most notably made a difference in both the tasks of work and bringing a contagious spirit to those co-workers around her. She was a professional singer, as well as possessed many other qualities that would have most people amazed and wishing they could meet a person such as “Mom“ or “Jackie.“ Jackie so appreciated the outpouring of love and thoughts from the many of those who offered it, as well as and especially the care the doctors, nurses, techs, and staff at Overlook Hospital gave her, where her son Matthew had fought a battle with cancer and passed 20 years ago. They all truly tried to help her and gave her comfort. While perhaps it is most people's wishes that they leave at least one mark behind in life, those who knew her would say that she left many. God bless you, our Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Friend. We will miss you.
