JOHN F. ZIMMERMAN CROWN POINT, IN John F. Zimmerman, age 91 of Crown Point, passed away October 9, 2014, at Wittenberg Village. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus Good Shepherd Council, IBEW Local 697. He was an amateur radio operator, W9IBZ. John was a WWII army veteran. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Phyllis; parents: John and Veronica Zimmerman; sister: Veronica Dijak; brother: Richard Zimmerman. He is survived by brothers: George, Edward, Frederick, and Robert; numerous nieces and nephews; special niece and caregiver Linda. Friends may visit with John's family on Monday, October 13, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. A Knights of Columbus service will be held at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation, 8303 Taft St., Merrillville, IN, with prayers beginning at 9:15 a.m. at Burns.
