John (Jack) E. Carpenter, 77, a resident of Green Valley, AZ for 23 years and formerly of Hawthorne, NY died October 30, 2001. Jack spent his life in the education field receiving a BA in Education from Iona and a Masters and Professional Diploma from Columbia University. He has been recognized in Who's Who of America since 1976. He retired as Principal of Rye High School. Jack served 27 years as Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy reserves and was a lifetime member of the Rotary Club and many education organizations. He is survived by his wife, Marie. Beloved son, Dennis and wife, Kathleen and cherished grandchildren, John and Casey, all of Hawthorne, NY. Memorial Mass Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 11 am. Interment Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
