JORDAN, JAMES DONALDJames Donald Jordan, 85, of Chiefland passed away April 19, 2011 at Haven Hospice of the Tri-Counties in Chiefland. Born in St. Petersburg, FL, he moved here from Largo in 1985. Mr. Jordan was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Trenton. He retired from the US Military after serving his country during WWII in the Coast Guard for 4 years and the US Army for 16 years. He was proud of and enjoyed his family and traveling, received many awards during his life and enjoyed bowling, woodworking, painting and gardening. He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Vera L. Jordan of Chiefland, daughter G. Kathleen Jordan-Best of St. Petersburg, son James D. Jordan, II of Largo, daughter Victoria Leigh (John) Costello of Dunedin, grandchildren Levi Benjamin Loomis, Rebekah Brianne Jordan, David Joseph Costello and great grandchildren, Maggie Loomis and Ian Loomis. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Chiefland with visitation one hour prior the service. Additional funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Gee and Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenneth City, FL.
