Avis de décès de Ina-Mae Whitehead

Ina Mae Whitehead, 81, of Ash Grove, passed away on Friday afternoon, September 11, 2009, in St. John's Hospital, following a short illness. Ina Mae was born south of Halltown in Lawrence County, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, attended Missouri State Teachers College, and taught school in one room schools. She loved being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a member of Ash Grove Assembly of God Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years. Ina Mae Johnson and R. Conley Whitehead were united in marriage on September 21, 1950. To this union five children were born. Together they were privileged to share over 55 years. Conley preceded her in death on October 29, 2005. Also preceding her was an infant son, Farron Dale, on April 16, 1964; her parents, Walter and Lela (Galloway) Johnson; two brothers, Mel and Victor Johnson; and three sisters, Grace Garner, Rosetta Carr and Vivian Pyle. She is survived by her loving children, two sons, Rick and wife, Brenda Whitehead of Ash Grove, and Dane and wife, Debbie Whitehead of Bois D'Arc; two daughters, Reba and husband, Gerg Long of Walnut Grove, and Christina and husband, Donnie Jett of Ash Grove; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Ivan Johnson of Marionville, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 2 p.m., in Ash Grove Assembly of God Church, with Revs. Don Miller and Carl Long officiating. Interment will follow in Ash Grove Cemetery, under the care and direction of Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home of Ash Grove. Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Monday, in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
