-->Henry Thornton ATLANTA, GA-- Mr. Henry "Hank" Thornton, 82, of Atlanta died Monday, June 30, 2008. He was born in Spartanburg, SC on February 9, 1926 to the late McDuff and Margaret Thornton. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He owned American Cycle and Mower in Atlanta and was a Shriner. Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Casey Thornton; three brothers; and a sister. He is survived by his son, Henry Dean Thornton, Jr. and wife Lisa of Auburn, WA; long time friend and companion, Louise Beachler of Atlanta; three grandsons of Yuba City, CA; one granddaughter of Pittsburgh, PA; one great-granddaughter; and eight great-grandsons. The family will hold an open house memorial at his home on July 12, 2008 from 1:00-4:00 PM. All friends and family are welcome to attend and share fond memories. The family requests no flowers.
