Henry Marks Alley, 94 ORR'S ISLAND -- Henry Marks Alley, 94, died March 14, 2009 at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born in Ellsworth, June 16, 1914 the son of Charles and Cora (Marks) Alley. Henry graduated from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill in 1932. He married Juanita Lawrie on March 6, 1936. He was a member of the Hiram Lodge #180 of So. Portland and the Ellsworth United Methodist Church. He is survived by sons, Dean Alley and wife Elizabeth of Lubec, Mark Alley and wife Wendy of Dover, N.H., daughter, Joanne Harris of Orr's Island; grandchildren, Shamus, Kristin and Jonathan Alley, Melinda Richter, Andrea Michelson, Leeanne Keller; and four great-grandchildren. Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years on Jan. 27, 2005; siblings, Laurence, William, Doris and Gladys. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Ellsworth United Methodist Church, 21 Hancock St. Ellsworth. Reception following at the church.
