OLD TOWN - Henry G. Pearson, 82, passed away peacefully Feb. 19, 2008, surrounded by his family at Maine Veterans' Home, Bangor. Henry was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Orrington, the son of Henry and Minnie (Baker) Pearson. He was a devoted husband, and a very loving father and grandfather. He was an avid Yankees fan, who loved to tease local Red Sox fans. Henry was a member of the VFW. He was also a huge sports fan, whether it was watching his grandchildren throughout the years or participating in numerous horseshoe, bowling and golf tournaments. Henry also was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Enterprise. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rose Marie (Ouellette); and a brother, Pearlston (Perk) Pearson. Henry is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Green) Welch Pearson; a daughter, Beverly (Pearson) King and her husband, Wayne, all of Old Town; grandson, Casey King and his wife, Amanda; granddaughter, Meghan (King) McDonald and her husband, Chris, all of Howland; one great-grandchild, Joslyn King; two brothers-in-law, Robert Ouellette and his wife, Marion, of Jonesport, and Billy Ouellette of Arizona; one sister-in-law, Eva (Ouellette) Rogers and her husband, Hughie, of Farm-ington, N.H.; seven stepchildren and their families, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. Interment will be held in the spring.
