NORTHPORT Henry Cole Pearson, age 81, of Northport, died Jan. 16, 2009, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Northport First United Methodist Church with the Reverends Al Geise and Tim Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery in Northport with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will follow at the cemetery.He was preceded in death by his parents, John S. Pearson, Jr. and Cora Lesley Pearson, his brother, Beatty Pearson, and his late wife, Virginia Bryant Pearson.Survivors include his wife, Sadie W. Pearson; son, John S. Pearson, III (Margaret); daughter, Virginia Faye McCook (Howell); grandsons, John S. Pearson, IV (Jamie), Jason Patton Pearson, Bill McCook, Brian McCook, and Daniel McCook; sisters, Katherine Springer and June Hendrix (Blanton); stepson, Jack W. Gibson (Penny); granddaughter, Sara Grace Gibson; stepdaughter, Sara Anne Gibson (Neil Ravenna); eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Wayne Wilson, Donnie Harmon, Don Odum, Mike Griffin, Johnny Rushing, and Elden Willingham.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northport First United Methodist Church music fund.
