Helen S. (Lynch) Farrell of Falmouth, Mass.Helen S. (Lynch) Farrell , 98, died at Falmouth Hospital on August 13, 2002. Born in Boston, Mass., Mrs. Farrell was a long time resident of Alexandria, Va. and prior to that, Glen Ridge, N.J. She was the wife of the late Dr. Edward S. (Doc) Farrell, a former Major League Baseball player who was a member of the Boston Braves in the 1920's and the 1932 World Champion New York Yankees, and a Newark, N.J. dentist. She is survived by her children, Mrs. George E. (Joan) Feeney, Alexandria, Va., Mrs. Michael A. (Elizabeth) Heffernan, Needham, Mass., Mrs. Donald G. (Sheila) Hailer, Falmouth, Mass., Mrs. Laurence E. (Ellen) Mullen, La Jolla, Calif., Richard S. Farrell and his wife Linda, Collierville, Tenn., as well as Mrs. Patricia (Forkas) Farrell, San Diego, Calif., the wife of her late son, Edward R. Farrell, and John E. Fahey, South Weymouth, Mass., the husband of her late daughter, Linda; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Lynch Connolly; and brother, Daniel J. Lynch, both of Fla. Her sisters, Teresa Lynch Pieper and Anna Lynch Devettere; and her brother, John F. Lynch predeceased her. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, N.Y. on Saturday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 31 Adams Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760 in Helen S. Farrell's memory.
