Helen M. (Lynch) Smith, of Weymouth, and Norwell, age 98, passed away peacefully March 16, 2014. Beloved wife of the late John L. McDonough and Robert L. Smith, she was the devoted mother of Marjorie E. Kearns and her late husband Thomas F. Kearns of Braintree, Janice W. Curtis-Damstra of East Weymouth and her late husband Lawrence Curtis and the late George E. Damstra, and Helen L. Baker and her husband Neil W. Baker of East Weymouth. Also survived by 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1199 Commercial Street, East Weymouth. Visiting hours were Wednesday, March 19, from 4-8 p.m. in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rte. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center.
