Helen Lorraine Wheeler, 90, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013. Helen was born in Springfield, IL, and lived in multiple US and overseas locations as an USAF spouse before retiring to Panama City in 1963. Helen loved ballet and dancing, and enjoyed her work as a dance instructor. She was a parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Wheeler; a grandson, Christopher A. Scott, and her twelve brothers and sisters.Survivors include her children, Richard J. Wheeler, Jr. (Mary) and Suzanne Elizabeth Scott (Alan); her grandchildren, Rick and Paul Wheeler and Darsey Scott-Owens; great-grandchildren, Katie, Jacob and Charlie Wheeler and Ivey and Braeden Owens; numerous nieces and nephews, and her cat, Muffin. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 20, 2013 a St. Dominic Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Zalewski officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. A public visitation will not be held. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Alan Scott, Rick Wheeler, Jr., Rick Wheeler, Duane Johns, Tim Owens, and Paul Wheeler.
