Flemington NJ, formerly of Fitchburg FLEMINGTON, New Jersey -- Helen D. Hansen died peacefully at her home in Flemington New Jersey on April 12, 2010. Helen was the daughter of Olga (Jarvela) Nisula and Leonard Nisula of Fitchburg Massachusetts and graduated from Fitchburg High School with the class of 1939. For many years Helen spent her summers in New England at her "camp" on Wyman's Pond and enjoyed many outdoor sports, including golf and tennis.Helen was predeceased by her former husband, John R. Hansen, and her only brother, Leonard "Rudy" Nisula. Ms. Hansen is survived by her children: Elaine R. Mulhern of Annadale NJ, John R. Hansen of Flemington NJ, and Lorraine L. Hansen of Rollinsford NH, her grandchildren: Dawn Mulhern of CO, and Lynn Slomczewski of NJ, and four great-grandchildren: Luca, Maija, Kai and Finn.HANSEN -- A visiting hour is scheduled to begin at 1:00 P.M., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Coughlin Funeral Home, 15 Academy Street, Califon NJ 07830. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Audubon Society or The Nature Conservancy.
