Avis de décès de Hazel-Dean-Bradley Parks


Mrs. Hazel Dean Bradley Parks, age 86, of the Holly Springs Community, Pendergrass, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009. Mrs. Parks was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Central, S.C., a daughter of the late J.P. Bradley, Lessie Carroll, and Clint Boone. Mrs. Parks was a Navy veteran of World War II where she was stationed at NAS Pensacola, Fla. as an aviation machinist mate with the WAVES. She was honorably discharged in 1945 with rank of third class petty officer. Mrs. Parks went to Commerce Elementary and graduated from Maysville High School and the Perry Business School, Gainesville. She worked as a seamstress, a U.S. Census Taker, and spent most of her years as a homemaker. Mrs. Parks was a member of Holly Springs United Methodist Church, and her hobbies included quilting with her friends at church, flower gardening, bird watching, sewing, and reading. She was a former correspondent with the Jackson Herald Newspaper. Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Arthur Guy "Buster" Parks Jr.; her sister, Bonnie Ferguson; and grandson, James Arthur Patrick. Mrs. Parks is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Guy Dean and Jimmy Benson of Jefferson, Andrea and Mark Tjepkema of Pendergrass, Meta and Steve Hages of Pendergrass, Celestine and Donald Vaughn of Pendergrass, and Paula and Wayne Price of Hoschton; sisters-in-law, Jean and Denver Savage and Betty Parks; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, from Holly Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Lewis, the Rev. Johnny Ray, the Rev. Steve Pierce, the Rev. Mark Tjepkema, and the Rev. Tom Fish officiating. A eulogy will be given by Matt Benson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Benson, Andrew Benson, Reece Westbrook, Joshua Watson, Kane Davis, Rodney Davis, Jacob Davis, and Mark Price. Members of the Jackson County EMS Station 5 will serve as honorary pallbearers. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Holly Springs United Methodist Church, 7441 Holly Springs Road, Pendergrass, Ga. 30567 or Compassionate Hospice, 1435 Haw Creek Circle, Suite 402, Cumming, Ga. 30041.
