Funeral services for Harry Shannon Allen age 83 will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday March 29 in the chapel at Shelton Funeral Home with Reverend Damen Duck and Brother Brad Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Brazil TN. He was born in Gibson Co. Tenn. at Brazil on July 5 1921 to the late Marvin and Blanch Harris Allen. He was educated at Brazil School and graduated from Peabody High School. He served his country in WW II as Staff Sergeant in the Anti-Aircraft Division. After the war he served as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 43 years from which he retired in 1991. He is survived by his wife Lillie Clarisse Tyree Allen of 58 years; a daughter Donna Allen Uitendaal of Newbern TN Shannon Allen and wife July of Brazil TN Steve Allen and wife Brenda of Franklin TN Glenn Allen and wife Gwelda of Alamo TN; fourteen grandchildren Kevin Harris Steele Amy Jane Edward and Adam Uitendaal Michael Allen and wife Christy Jennifer Bailey and husband Troy Jonathan Allen Clinton Clark Brant Benjamin and Abigail Allen April and Gregory Allen and two great grandchildren Karen and Savannah Allen. He was preceded in death by two sisters Ruth K. Allen and Mary Francis Phillips and four brothers Frank James Jule and Buddy Allen. Pallbearers to serve will be his grandsons. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brazil United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall Fund.
