KEENAN, Harry February 07, 1922 to July 8, 2011. Dr. Harry Walker Keenan DC (Bud) passed away peacefully on July 8th after a very full and active life of almost 90 years. Bud was a devoted and wonderful husband to his surviving wife and wartime bride Reynecke Keenan. Dearly loved father of Dirk (and his wife Jan) and Darcy (and his wife Sandy) and loved grandfather of Jenna. Bud served his country in world war and completed his doctor of chiropractic degree in 1952 at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. He was very involved in his profession serving as president of the Eastern Ontario Chiropractic Society, the board of directors for the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, and the College of Chiropractors of Ontario. Bud was an avid skier and continued to ski well into his eighties. Bud touched the lives of many people in his community and in his profession and will be remembered fondly by many. Anyone who knew him knew that he was a man who lived life fully on his terms and always did what he felt was the best solution for any given problem, always with the aim of saving money and time. Many of us have wonderful stories about that intent. When he finally ran out of time, he had accomplished a great deal. The family would like to send their sincerest thanks to all of Bud's wonderful neighbors for their wonderful care, kindness and attention over the years as well as thanks to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and CCAC. The family will be holding a memorial later this summer to celebrate Bud's life and family and friends will be notified of the details. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dr. Keenan's memory may be made to the Rotary Club of West Ottawa or the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
