Harold Wayne Allen Harold Wayne Allen, age 76, went to be with Our Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2010, following a lengthy illness in Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine, FL. Born in Swannanoa, NC to Edison and Annie Allen, he is survived by his brother, Thomas R. Allen of Greenville, SC; three children, Kathy Fleming, Mark Allen, and Michael Allen; and his devoted wife, Phyllis. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a member of the Swannanoa Baptist Church and Arden Baptist Church. He was also an active member of his community in Campobello, SC after retiring from Ball Manufacturing Corp. in Arden. He was an avid outdoors-man, hunter, fisherman, dog trainer and a trophy-winning, skeet shooter. He belonged to the NC Wildlife Assoc. and the Polk County Wildlife Club. He did numerous good deeds for his neighbors and friends. He will be missed immensely. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the children's education fund at St. Augustine Lighthouse. The family will hold private services in Asheville, NC at a later date. Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is assisting the family.
