NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Harold Lindbergh Lindy Mann, 83, husband of the late Jean Mann, of Merriwether Dr., entered into rest on Friday, September 23, 2011 at University Hospital. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm today, Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. James D. Dennis, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Park. Born in Tallassee, AL, he had made North Augusta his home since 1952. An avid golfer for over 50 years Mr. Mann enjoyed having his wife as his playing partner. He loved to travel, especially to Myrtle Beach. He was a graduate of Auburn University and remained a lifelong fan. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church where he was an usher as well as a member of the Roundtable Sunday School Class and the Senior Choir. He retired from Savannah River Site after having served 37 years as a supervisor. His life revolved around his church and his family. He was grateful to have been part of what he saw as the most blessed generation. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, Paw Paw and friend who will be missed by all. War Eagle! Survivors include two sons, Mike Mann of Atlanta, GA and Steve Mann of Winston Salem, NC; a daughter, Vicki Mann of Decatur, GA; two brothers, Tommy Mann and John Mann and four grandchildren, Michael Mann, Meredith Mann, Jason Mann and Stephen Mann. Pallbearers will be Michael Mann, Meredith Mann, Stephen Mann, Jason Mann, Cathy Swink and Russell Mann. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Roundtable Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at Grace United Methodist Church today from 1:30 pm until service time.
