Athens - Mr. H. Wayne Allen, 58, of Athens died August 18th after a long, valiant struggle. Services will be held on Saturday the 21st of August at St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church at 1:00 pm. Wayne was born in Schenectady, New York to Helen and Edward Allen, and raised in Valley Forge, PA. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences, lived in New York City and California and moved to Georgia in 1983 to launch his company, Associated Textile Mills of Union Point. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Christine Arnold Allen, three children, Dr. Elizabeth Allen, Blake Allen, and Christine Allen, two brothers, Ron Allen, Dr. David Allen, sister Sandra Smith as well as three nieces and two nephews, and his mentee, Jeffrey Williams.
