Gordon Evans PalmerGordon Evans Palmer, 75, of Okeechobee, died Friday, May 11, 2007, at Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee. Born Sept. 1, 1931, in Vancouver, Canada and having moved from Vancouver, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1989 and owned and operated Palmer Marine until retiring to Okeechobee 18 years ago and began working with Evans Properties. He enjoyed fishing.Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Gwen Palmer of Okeechobee; son, Kenneth (Sue) Kern of Portland, Ore.; daughters, Susan (Jim) May of Coconut Creek, Suzanne Harlow of Vancouver Island; and, Colleen Harlow of Vancouver, British Columbia; grandsons, Jeff (Krissy) May of Austin, and, David Kerr of Portland, Ore.; granddaughters, Sandy May of Coconut Creek, Jessica (Chris) Clemence and Julie Herr, all of Portland, Ore.; and, his beloved dog, Sam the Basset Hound.No services are planned.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, FL 34973.All arrangements are under the care and direction of Buxton Funeral Home and Crematory, 110 N.E. Fifth St., Okeechobee.
