GORDON ARTHUR JOHNSON, 83Suncoast Laundry Equipment LAKELAND - Mr. Gordon Arthur Johnson, 83, passed away as a result of heart failure, Thursday, 10/29/2009, at Wedgewood Healthcare Center. Born 9/1/1926 in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Johnson moved to Lakeland in 1973 from Northbrook, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II. He was a former member of Winnetka Covenant Church and the Winnetka Rotary Club. While living in North-brook, he was also the owner of the Kordick Electric Company. After moving to Lakeland, he became the owner of the Suncoast Laundry Equip-ment Company, and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife: Dorothy E. Johnson of Lakeland, FL, sons: Scott A. (Jacquee) Johnson and Peter A. (Kara) Johnson, both of Lakeland, FL, daughters: Karna Nooney of Lakeland, FL and Amy Rankin of Riverview, FL and 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Nooney, Meghan Bradley, Graham Johnson, Lauren Rankin and Abigail Johnson. A memorial service will be conducted, Sunday, 11/15/2009 at 3pm at Christ United Methodist Church at 745 Lake Miriam Drive in Lakeland. Interment will be conducted privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church in Mr. Johnson's honor.
