Gladys Chapman Gladys Chapman, 84, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at her home. The service will be at 3:30 p.m. EST today at Holy Cross Anglican Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Children's Home, 7771 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32309. Please mark for education. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (850-893-4177) is handling arrangements.Born at 23 Arden St. in London, England, she was a scientific photographer and a member of Holy Cross Anglican Church. She was proud to have served in the Women's Land Army during World War II. She traveled the world with her husband in his work and was an active member of SNEAP (Symposium of North Eastern Accelerator Personnel).She will be remembered by her family as a compassionate mother, an adventurous cook and avid reader and an anonymous donor to many children's causes. She had a warm heart for all who served their country in the past and present. Survivors include four daughters, Billie Chapman (and life partner Lynne Spencer) of Derby, England, Tezz Niemeyer of Greenville, Jacqueline Williams (and husband Kenneth) of Nashville, Tenn., and Iola Goeke (and husband Joe) of Tallahassee; a son, Antony Chapman (and wife La Donna) of Shelby, N.C.; a sister, Audrey Josephine Constable of Cliftonville, Kent, England; nine grandchildren, Petrina Hughes, Daryl Adams, Keisha Gardner, Sherry Dean, Kim Marquardt, Clifton Sisk, Elizabeth Hasenberg, Brandon Goeke and Brittany Goeke; and two great-granddaughters, Georgina and Emma.She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth R. Chapman, Ph.D.; her parents, Charles William John Mist and Elsie Madeline Reeves Mist; two sisters, Elsie Emily Margaret Crowley and Constance Phyllis Doreen Pedley; and two sons-in-law, William Niemeyer and Jerry Dunn.
