ALLEN _ Gilbert Lloyd Gilbert Lloyd Allen went to Heaven on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the age of 73. He is survived by his loving wife Jean; two daughters: Linda Fowler (Bruce) of Calgary, Kim Allen (Dave) of Kelowna; three sons: Lloyd Allen (Shannon) of Calgary, Mark Allen (Mabel) of Hong Kong, Shawn Allen (Charlene) of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren: Christy, Kevin, Gilbert Henry, Gilbert Joel, Geneisa, Amy and Mathen; three brothers: Bob Allen (Linda) of Fort Saskatchewan, Don Allen of Edmonton, George Dionne (Michelle) of Petawawa, ON; four sisters: Betty Medwid (Mike) of Fort McMurray, AB, Lil Knight of Westlock, AB, Audrey Padavell (Jack) of Edmonton, Alma of Edmonton; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and children he has picked up along the way. An amazing man who made friends wherever he went and became a father figure to all those who were brought home. "In the door once, family forever." A man whose heart was as big as the big blue sky he adored and who was always good for a bit of mischief. His living memory will be cherished always. Predeceased by his parents, father-in-law, stepfather and one sister. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 17 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
