George W. Andrews, 82, of Schenectady, passed away at home on Sunday, August 8, 2010, after a long illness. Born on October 22, 1927 in Schenectady. He was the son of George and Eleanor Andrews. George grew up on Putnam Road and was a lifelong area native. George worked for the NYS- DOT in Schenectady retiring in 1983, then worked as a security guard for several years. He will be remembered as a loving husband and a devoted father. His wife, Melva Andrews, passed away in 2008. George was also predeceased by his daughter, Georgia Mae; his brother, Mac McVilla; and four sisters; Edna Rotundo, Elsie Nadler, Ella Walker and Pauline Andrews. George is survived by his daughter, Gloria Andrews; his granddaughter, Karen Isopo; and his sister, Zelda Golden. George is also survived by his nieces, Linda Price and Lisa Savage; his nephew, David Tabor; and his great nephew, Eric Savage; along with several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
