Brigadier General George K. PattersonUSAF (ret.) of VestalBrigadier General George K. Patterson, USAF, 76, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 8, 2004. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be forever warmly remembered. He is survived by his wife, Christie Patterson, Vestal; his children, Leslie and Richard Bensinger, Hollis, N.H., Nancy and Wayne Johansen, N. Attleboro, Mass., John Patterson, Orlando, Fla., David and Kandi Patterson, Raleigh, N.C., and B. Douglas and Suzanne Weissman, N. Hampton, N.H.; his sister, Patricia Allen, Winter Park, Fla.; nephews, Stephen and Pam Allen, Winter Park, Fla., and Buelle and Pam Fahanestock, Virginia; ten grandchildren; and special, dear family friends, Diane and Dale Fluegel and family. George was a graduate of West Point, Class of 1950, and an Air Force fighter pilot during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed at Singer-Link and was active in SeniorNet. His other interests were gardening, woodworking, reading high-tech novels and astronomy.Funeral services with full military honors will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City, with the Air Force Chaplain officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Barber Memorial Home on Monday, from noon until the time of services.
