BREWER - George Harris Andrews, 90, died Jan. 18, 2008, at a Ban-gor hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Ship Cove, Newfoundland, son of Alfred and Clara (King) Andrews. George was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been formerly employed by Wood Products, Brewer and retired from the Maintenance Department at Husson College. He was a member of North Bre-wer-Eddington United Metho-dist Church and the former Riverside Grange, Brewer, for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Thel-ma C. (Childs) Andrews; one son, George Dana Andrews, both of Brewer; a daughter, Diane L. Andrews and her husband, Robert N. Snyder; a grandson, Andrew Childs Snyder, all of State College, Pa.; one sister, Ethel E. Andrews of Holden; one brother, James E. Andrews of Orono; several nieces, nephews and "adopted grandchildren." A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of North Bre-wer-Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 4 p.m. until the time of service Monday. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms after the service.
