O'NEILL George Edward July 25, 1927 - September 16, 2009 It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our dear friend George O'Neill who passed away in Langley Memorial Hospital from a stroke, aged 82 years. George was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Jane O'Neill (nee Morris) and his sisters Kathleen (Australia) and Clara (U.K.). He is survived by his only child Deborah Yarham (Mike) and grandson Dillon Yarham currently residing in England. Also grandchildren Jessica (Nick) and family. and Lance Guest of Chilliwack. George was born in Shavington cum Gresty, Chester, England and emigrated to Canada arriving on February 24, 1949 on the S.S. Empress of France at age 21. He had previously served with the armed forces in Europe in world War II. George worked faithfully for Seaspan International for 30 years on the tug boats before retiring from them in 1992. George will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and loyalty: a dear man and a dear friend. He leaves behind two sisters, Margaret in Sask. and Eileen (U.K.). Also niece, Lynne and her children Dwayne, Darren (Kelley), Kelly (Cindy) and Trina (Kevin) and family. George wished to be cremated. His ashes were returned to England with his daughter. No funeral by request. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
