Carlstadt — George E. Abbott, 70, died on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014. Mr. Abbott was born and raised in Jersey City and has been a resident of Carlstadt for over 45 years. He was an Auto Mechanic for De Massi Cadillac of Lyndhurst for 10 years and owner of Abbott Gulf Station, Fair Lawn for 43 years. He also was a member of the Cosmos Club of Fair Lawn. Mr. Abbott is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Dorothy (nee Schroeder) Abbott, by his loving children, George Abbott of Carlstadt, Joseph Abbott and his wife, Rachel of Cinnaminson, Nicole Shahid and her husband, Sheref of Waldwick, his dear grandchildren, Cheyenne, Emily, Cody, Taylor, Tessa and Brandon and by his siblings, Joseph Abbott, Jr., and the late Antoinette Gilmartin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Nazare Memorial Home, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 10:30 a.m. Interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours are Wednesday 7-9 p.m.
