George W. Paige, age 74, of Brewster, NY, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in Carmel, NY. Mr. Paige was born on December 2, 1928 in Malden, MA to Edward F. and Mary Elizabeth (Mitchell) Paige. He attended schools in Boston, MA and served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Paige married Florence Mitchell on January 27, 1961 in Brewster, NY. Mr. Paige was supervisor and manager of Ben Zeger & Associates in New York City. After retirement he worked for the Carmel Central School District as a custodian. Mr. Paige had lived in Bronx, NY for many years before moving to Brewster in 1962. Mr. Paige was an avid crafter of picture frames and was always there to help out a neighbor or friend. Besides his wife, Mr. Paige is survived by two sons George W. Paige Jr. of Mahopac, NY and Dennis Houghton and his wife Debbie of Holmes, NY, three daughters Karen Leann Plante and her husband Joseph Plante of Abilene, TX, Joyce M. Ziffer of Brewster and Denise Shannon and her husband Christopher Shannon of Fishkill, NY. A sister Retsy Coyle and her husband Frank of Titusville, FL. Also 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at 10 am at Dwyer Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Patterson, NY. Interment Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 pm.
