Florence Alberta Goetschius Chapman, age 94, of Decherd, Tenn., passed away at her residence on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, after an extended illness. She was a retired secretary at the Civil Defense Center in Orlando, Fla. She was a member of the Morrison Presbyterian Church in Otto, N.C. She was a former member of the Presbyterian Women's Auxiliary and the Otto, North Carolina Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Brigham Chapman. She is survived by her sons, Bill and wife, Terry Chapman of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Arthur and wife, Lisa Chapman of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; one stepgrandson; four great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Chapman were held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Lynchburg Funeral Home with Brother Kevin Minchey officiating. Graveside services for Mrs. Chapman will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tiffin, Ohio.
