She died peacefully in her Spring Hill, Fla., home, surrounded by Hernando Pasco Hospice, with her close friends by her side. Florence or "Flo," as she was affectionately called, was born March 9, 1917, in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of John Joseph Romolo and Concettina Mottola. She grew up in East Boston, Mass., and while attending East Boston High School, she met her high school sweetheart, Anthony Guglielmo, whom she married in 1952. They lived a long and happy marriage in Medford, Mass., until his death in 1986. Soon after, Florence reconnected with former co-worker from the Boston Naval Shipyard, Robert Gauthier of Harwich, Mass., and the two were married, until his death in 1995. An active volunteer at Oak Hill Hospital and country line dance teacher at Brooksville Elks, Flo was a hard working, spunky lady, lover of the ocean and an avid fisherman. On her 93rd birthday, she was celebrated as Oak Hill Hospital's Oldest Volunteer, an honor which she cherished and continued until her last days. She is survived by 17 grand-children, six great- grand-children; many nieces and nephews; and, although she never had children, she was loved and cared for by her four stepsons, Paul, John, Peter and Raymond. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Anthony Guglielmo and Robert Gauthier; two sisters, Elma and Joahanna; and one brother, John Romolo. In lieu of a funeral or memorial service, the Gauthier family asks that donations and remembrances be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice. According to her wishes, she will be cremated, and a small gathering will be held for close family and friends November 20, 2011, at her home. Brewer & Sons (352) 596-4991
